Come on Spring, let's just end Winter early

I think, personally, that we have had enough Winter. It's had a good run. When was the first snow? In November I believe? So that's 5 months of winter. Umm, here's the deal, half a year of winter is just ridiculous. It is time to end all this silliness right this instant. I'm waiting for Spring to reply...

Sorry, I believe that's the cold and the cabin fever talking, haha. I really am ready for a little warmth, though.

I don't have too much to update on. I made dinner tonight, because dad thought it would be good for me to cook (since I'll have to do all my own cooking next year... or because mum was coming home late and he didn't want to cook haha).



So there's nothing else really going. Hopefully I'll have an exciting weekend and have something to update on Sunday. I figured while I had a pretty empty blog, I might as well include pictures of the little boys I babysit. They are super active and funny, and they are great.

A trip South.... sorta.

So on Friday, dad and I played hooky from school, to go to a different school. We headed south! To New Hampshire, where actually, it was surprisingly a lot warmer, (it hit 56 while we were there. Grey skies and a bit of wind, but really nice weather for February!) The point of this trip was to do a tour of NHIA (New Hampshire Institute of Art) as well as to have a portfolio review and interview. The tour took us all over the city of Manchester, because the college is pretty spread out, mostly because they school didn't build their own new complex, but bought old building from the city and created their halls and dorms. The main hall is an old bank, and it is amazing! The dorms are all really nice, except there is one that is an all female dorm, and I couldn't deal with that ever, haha! The YMCA dorm sounds pretty great though. The first floor of the building is the city's YMCA and the rest of the floors are dorm rooms, which all the roomers of get free gym memberships. I could definitely use one of those!
So after the tour, I sat down with Cindy for my review. Cindy actually grew up in Hampden, right near where I live, and she was the counselor at an art camp that I went to every summer as a little kid. She's an extremely talented artist, and very funny, and she made the interview extremely relaxed. She loved that most of my work was on such a large scale, and told me at the end that she would give me the highest score, which either grants me a 1,500 dolalr renewable scholarship or puts me in the running for one (I can't remember). So it went AMAZING. haha. I'm really considering going there. I mean, it's scary, the whole idea of art school, but the area was nice and everyone there was so down to earth and helpful and really great.

Saturday night I cleaned up the kitchen and living room, finished some english homework, and wrote out some scholarships instead of going out to dinner with my friends. BLAH. But luckily, Zoe and Deirdre ended up driving around for like an hour, because the restaurant was so crowded and had a long wait, and then they went to grab starbucks, and by the time they were ready to just give up on going out to dinner and head back to Deirdre's for some british comedy and pizza, I was ready to go out as well. So they swung back for me and Leslianne, and we had a pretty chill, funny evening.
